Katie is a proud member of the Communist Party of Canada (CPC) and is looking forward to challenging the status quo and supporting the urgent left and socialist needs of people in Halifax.
Katie was born in Halifax, raised in Sydney, lived in Ottawa for many years and has a long and unswerving lean to the left. She worked as a temporary office worker, a technology contractor, had a small business and lots of gig jobs over the years of changing landscape for workers in Canada. Katie ran for office in Halifax in both municipal (2008) and provincial (2013) elections and volunteers as often as possible with various groups within the community.
Katie is also an artist, working in various mediums and enjoys being a member of a large and talented family.
